OSWC experts successfully co-facilitated series of workshops on Perceptions of Aid in Ukraine
We are proud to share that Open Space Works Cooperative (OSWC) experts Maryana Zaviyska and Taras Tymchuk recently co-facilitated and presented key findings at the Ground Truth Solutions (GTS) Workshop Series on Perceptions of Aid in Ukraine, which took place from 18th to 24th April 2023 in Lviv, Kyiv, Dnipro and online. The workshops brought together over 200 participants representing leading international humanitarian organizations helping Ukraine and local Ukrainian actors from civil society and local authorities.
The workshop series, organized by GTS in collaboration with the OSWC, aimed to understand the views of conflict-affected communities, aid recipients, and local actors regarding the humanitarian response in Ukraine. OSWC research team played a crucial role in the qualitative research conducted between September 2022 and March 2023, which informed the insights shared during the workshop sessions.
As co-facilitators, Maryana and Taras led discussions on the findings, engaged participants in interactive exercises, and shared their expertise in the qualitative aspect of the research. Their presentations focused on the themes of information, access to aid, cash assistance, participation, and localization.
The active engagement of over 200 participants from various international humanitarian organizations and local Ukrainian actors contributed to the development of actionable recommendations, which will be presented back to communities and the bodies coordinating the humanitarian response. The workshop also served as a platform for networking between different aid actors, fostering collaboration to address the challenges faced by conflict-affected communities in Ukraine.
We are thrilled to have had our OSWC experts actively involved in such a vital initiative, ensuring that the voices and feedback from affected communities informed the humanitarian response in Ukraine.
